Meet the Mighty Squirrels
Mighty Squirrel is a volunteer coalition of music-loving community members bringing a variety of quality, accessible live music to a wide range of listening venues in the upper Arkansas River Valley.
Bruce Warren
President
Originally from the Ozarks of Arkansas, Bruce Warren has been playing and performing music for over 40 years and is a past National Champion on hammered dulcimer. For over 20 years he performed music with his partner Liz Thomas, including music in the schools in many U.S. states, and continues to perform in several bands in the Salida area.
For the last several years he has been on the board of the historic Coaldale Schoolhouse in Fremont County, where he also hosts live concerts. He distributes a weekly music newsletter to a mailing of over 300, detailing music throughout the Arkansas River Valley and beyond.
Mike Rosso

Former editor and Publisher of Colorado Central Magazine, Mike also sat on the board of the Friends of the Salida SteamPlant as music advisor and is a founding member of KHEN radio. He helped develop the Coaldale Schoolhouse venue and has been an independent producer of live music in the Upper Arkansas Valley. He also performs with a regional Celtic band, Stuck in the Briar.
Dawn Dennison

Tom Plant and Dawn Dennison both have a deep love for acoustic live music. In 1994, they started the Acoustic Coffeehouse in Nederland, Colorado, which became known nationally as a magnet for singer/songwriters, bluegrass and other Americana musicians. They ran the coffeehouse until they sold the business in 2001. They both participate in bluegrass and old time jams around the region and Tom sits in on banjo with a variety of bands in the area.
