Kids' Bluegrass Music Camp

A JAM CAMP FOR KIDS!
All kids should feel welcome and supported in their musical journey, no matter what their experience level! Kids will be encouraged to try new instruments, take solos during a jam and will learn standard jam etiquette. We will focus on teaching kids to be kind and supportive of each other and to have fun playing music!

Parents are welcome and encouraged to participate, but it is not required. There will be volunteer opportunities as the dates get closer.

CAMPERS:
We will limit enrollment to 30 students and the cost will be $100 per student. If there are siblings from the same family, the 2nd (and 3rd!) child will be $75. Students must be 6-16 years old by time of camp . If there are special considerations, please reach out to me directly.
THE INSTRUCTORS:
Those helping run the camp are being carefully selected for their ability to be supportive and encouraging in a jam, as well as for their musical expertise. Specific instructors will be announced as the date gets closer. We plan to have 2 instructors per instrument, so that students who have never played before will be able to have some instruction.

INSTRUMENTS:
Please bring any instruments you have around the house that you don't mind sharing with other students. We will have a system at camp registration to ensure all instruments are clearly labelled with name and whether or not they can be loaned out.
THE VENUE:
This is a beautiful old church camp located outside Bailey, CO that is being offered to us by a camper's family. It is imperative that we treat it with respect. NO open fires, but gas firepits will be allowed.
There are pit toilets and running water, but you will be expected to manage all your own cooking, trash, recycles, etc. There is also a big lodge with a fireplace, a stage and electricity we will be able to use the last night of camp for the potluck and open mike. There is limited space for campers, so onsite camping will be limited to campers, immediate family members, and instructors and their families.
