About the event

Tony Furtado is a Portland OR based Americana/Folk musician with 20 albums to his credit. He is an evocative and soulful singer, a wide-ranging songwriter, a peerless slide guitar master and two-time national banjo champion who mixes and matches sounds and styles with the flair of a master chef (he’s also an accomplished sculptor, but that’s another story). All of the music of America is in Tony’s music. Relix hit the nail on the head when writing of Tony: “True talent doesn’t need categories.” Of Tony's new banjo album, Tony Trischka says “Tony Furtado, banjo player, is back…in a big way, Decembering is Texturally fresh, confidently audacious, rich and giving, this recording is a masterpiece.”

Decembering is a welcome return to the banjo and a much-needed ray of sunshine and light in these troubled times. Tony who has collaborated and toured with the likes of Alison Krauss, Greg Allman, Derek Trucks, Milk Carton Kids, Tim O'Brien and David Lindley.

Stephanie Schneiderman is an award winning songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and activist. Whether pursuing her prolific work as a solo artist (9 albums), playing drums for all-star roots pop act Dirty Martini, stepping on the stage in the musical The Full Monty, producing a wildly successful humanitarian concert series for refugees in Uganda (raising over $70k) as well as producing the soundtrack for 3 popular children's DVDs, Schneiderman is hands down one of the most diversely talented artists the NW has to offer. Starting her solo career with a coveted spot in the Lilith Fair, she went on to share the stage with some of the nation's top touring acts - from Aimee Mann to Hall & Oates, Marc Cohen, Sarah McLachlan and Train. Her newest album, Crossfire, released in 2022, combines her past explorations - folk, Americana and pop into a beautifully dark, deeply introspective album that is as lush as it is intimate and is possibly her most compelling collections of songs to date.
