About the event
Though she grew up in the “music mecca” of Nashville, TN (her father Stephen moved there in the late 1970s to become a professional musician after being encouraged by the legendary violinist Vassar Clements), Lizzy Plotkin has called the Gunnison Valley home since 2010, where she soon discovered “the small but mighty mountain bluegrass jam scene of the Western Slope”. Having played violin since age 4, she immersed herself in that scene and in 2012 co-founded the CO folk trio Free the Honey. They were a mighty force and would release three records, reach #1 on the folk DJ charts with their album Fine Bloom and perform nationwide til 2016.
As a fiddler, guitarist, singer and songwriter she continues to perform solo and collaboratively, including with her luthier husband Matt Lackey as a duo and in the Big Silly String Band, among projects with others. As a guest fiddler she has…
